Super Bowl LVII: Best Prop Bets

This Sunday’s Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles looks set to be a match for the ages.

Ahead of this year’s Super Bowl, Betway, one of the world’s biggest bookmakers took a trip down to the Tottenham Hotspur training complex to pick the brains of some of the clubs’ finest players.

Called the ‘Teammate’s Challenge’, each team needed to correctly predict what the other was thinking, often resulting in hilarious outcomes. Before the big game, make sure you check out the video.

The Super Bowl is big business in the betting community with estimates that there could be up to $16 billion dollars placed on NFL odds spread across various outcomes during the game.

As betting gets ever more sophisticated, there are now hundreds of markets linked to the game and despite both teams being evenly matched, there is plenty of value that can be found.

This article will focus solely focus on Prop bets. Prop bets are wagers that are not linked to the final score or outcome of the game. In American Football this can be often linked to a player’s performance – for example will a player go over or under a certain number of yards? How many touchdowns will be scored in the game? Will there be a score on the opening drive? Often the bettor is provided with a simple answer of yes or no, making these wagers some of the easiest to place.

Ahead of Sunday’s game we have trawled through some of the best prop bets you can place.

Isiah Pacheco to rush for over 50 yards.

The Philadelphia Eagles will head into this year’s Super Bowl with the best pass defense in the NFL. Due to Philadelphia’s stinginess through the air, look for the Chiefs to try and run the ball as much as they can. By keeping the ball on the ground, the Chiefs will hope to neutralize one of the Eagle’s main strengths. Occasionally this Eagles team has proved vulnerable to the run and the Chiefs will certainly be hoping this is the case this Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes to rush for over 20 yards.

Patrick Mahomes has rightly earnt a fierce reputation for being one of the best quarter backs in the NFL, but what makes Mahomes so difficult to defend against is his ability to use his legs to keep drives alive. There was real concern that during the Chief’s Divisional round victory over the Jaguars that Mahomes had suffered a severe ankle injury. The diagnosis was that it was just a high ankle sprain and the expectation is that Mahomes should be back to full working order here. With Philadelphia not giving up too much in the air, Mahomes will need to use his legs to help keep his side moving forward down the field.

A.J Brown to pass over 70 receiving yards.

One of the trades of the previous offseason was when the Eagles traded for Tennessee wideout A.J Brown. A beast of a receiver, Brown has established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the game. Brown finished with 1,496 yards in the regular season but has had a quiet time of things in the playoffs. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will need a big performance from Brown if the Eagles are to keep pace with the Chiefs potent offense and it would not be a surprise to see Brown ball out this Sunday.
