It has been a roller-coaster campaign for New England Patriots in the 2019 season. They got off to a dream start to the title-defense quest with eight wins in a row, but only to lose four of the remaining eight matches of the regular season campaign. The drop in form began with a tough 37-20 loss at Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens in early-November and it culminated with the shocking 24-27 defeat at the hands of Miami Dolphins in the very last week, as reported by betting tips 4 you

Back-to-back home losses that ended New England’s season

The Dolphins played for nothing but pride in their last fixture of the season but managed to cause the biggest upset of them all by clinching a shocking victory to deny Patriots a bye in the first round of the play-offs. New England were thus forced to host Tennessee Titans in the wild-card round.

The reigning Super Bowl champions entered the tie with the Titans with a brutal record of 20 wins in 24 post-season affairs over the last two decades. Nevertheless, the magnificent streak counted for little as Derrick Henry completely stole the show at Gillette Stadium. The Titans’ hero ran for 182 yards and one touchdown on the evening to send his team into the AFC semi-final where they eventually shocked the regular-season winners Baltimore Ravens.

The amazing Belichik-Brady partnership

The aforementioned consecutive losses ruined the entire season for the Pats and left their fans and the entire football community with a number of questions. The first and the most important one is regarded to Tom Brady’s future in Foxborough. There is a big chance that the very last play of Brady’s career was a pick-six from his own 1-yard line in the wild-card loss.

The 42-year-old superstar, accompanied by Coach Bill Belichik, created America’s most successful sports dynasty of this century.  The tandem won six Super Bowl titles together, two more than any other coach-quarterback duo in the NFL history. They made nine Super Bowl appearances and led the Pats to eight successive AFC Championship games between 2011 and 2018. New England have definitely written the most successful story in the history of the game thanks to this outstanding combination, appearing in half of all Super Bowls since 2001. Speaking of the anthological partnership, we also have to mention the 2007 season when they went for the impeccable 16-0 record.

What’s next for the Patriots?

Looking at all of the achievements mentioned above, it is hard to even imagine the league without the legendary quarterback. Nevertheless, the dreadful end to the 2019 campaign raised inevitable questions in regards to the veteran team that featured four of the last five Super Bowls.

New England found themselves in a tough position exactly a decade ago when their aged defense required a changeover. It took Belichik as many as five years to build a team capable of winning the competition back then. Will he go through the same process now or can this team squeeze out one final quest for the throne? One thing is certain, New England are in for a super-busy 2020 off-season.

Tom Brady – Is it time for a farewell?

The legendary quarterback will become a free agent in March unless he agrees on a new contract with his beloved team. If they lose the star quarterback, the Patriots will have a $13.5 million in cap space. The club want to keep Brady on a contract that could allow them to fix the holes in the squad and fix their current weaknesses. In a certain matter, the lower salary might be in Brady’s best interest as it would help the team give him the much-needed weapons for the one final push for the crown next season. Anyhow, it is hard to talk about the team’s future without Tom Brady’s signature. We will all likely have to wait March for the final decision, but there are no doubts that another NFL season with one of the sports’ greats on the pitch would put a smile on every football enthusiast out there.

Belichik and the coaching staff

Belichik’s future in New England Patriots could pretty much depend on Brady’s final decision. He has an established program and two sons on staff, but finding the motivation to start over without his favorite quarterback represents a concern. The good news is the offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was denied by Cleveland Browns and will be with the Pats for at least one more season. On the negative note, the Special Teams and Wide Receivers coach Joe Judge left for the New York Giants. It is expected to be a massive loss given how good the Pats’ Special Teams have been in the previous campaign.

There are plenty of additional questions popping up between the two seasons, but we’ll talk about these when we learn Tom Brady’s decision.  If you wish to stay up to date with the latest NFL promos check bettingtips4you.com.
