The Patriots Storm Has Arrived

Whew! What a 48 hours for the Patriots since Sunday night. Since the Super Bowl, Malcolm Butler has released a statement. Matt Patricia is now head coach of the Detroit Lions. Josh McDaniels is now back to the Patriots as offensive coordinator. McDaniels’s return can only mean one thing: when Belichick retires, which looks probable after the 2018 season, McDaniels will take over.  For McDaniels to completely change his mind he must know that he will be the next in line once Belichick leaves. Robert Kraft probably made that clear to him yesterday and -oh yes, you know- Tom Brady had something to do with it.

Tom Brady Has a Say

Via Boston Herald

Tom Brady is the only player bigger than the team. He has earned that right through his tenure, and look what he has done. This is pure speculation, but Tom Brady may have told Kraft “I’m not playing here unless McDaniels stays and becomes head coach.” McDaniels will stay and become head coach when Belichick is gone after the 2018 season. Brady is the LeBron of the Patriots. Only difference is he can do what he wants because he has the championships to back it up.  LeBron, however, can’t back up his talk with winning.

The Decision to Bench Butler Was a Football Decision

Via Barstool Sports

Kraft and Belichick went out to dinner last night in the public eye. They picked a good time to go to Davio’s at Patriot Place avoiding the 5-7 dinner rush. Now I haven’t even touched on the Malcolm Butler situation. Hmmm…  Releasing a statement saying the reports of him missing curfew are ridiculous. Tom Brady endorsing the comment on Instagram and saying to Butler he has his back. That was strictly a football decision. Do you really think Brady would endorse something if Butler was going to concerts and missing curfew? I don’t think so.

Gronk Moving to Hollywood?

Via Sporting News

So what does this mean going forward, well it means this off season they’re will be lots to talk about. Will Gronk retire and become a actor? I’m sure Brady will have something to say about that and try and keep him in New England.

What Does the Super Bowl Loss Mean?

Malcolm Butler Should Have Been on the Field

Via SI.com

The Patriots’ Super Bowl loss last night was solely on the defense. Brady played a hell of a game, passing for 505 yards and no interceptions. However Bill Belichick didn’t like what Malcolm Butler did during the week. If Butler missed curfew or was picking fights in the locker room we will never know.

Belichick Put All the Pressure on Brady and the Offense

Via SI.com

Belichick believed that the best option was to sit Butler, substitute in Eric Rowe, and put all the work on Tom Brady and the offense. This let Nick Foles have a field day and connect with most of his passes. Brady didn’t need this win to be the greatest. He still is. Passing for 505 yards in the Super Bowl at age 40 is incredible.

There Is Tension

Via Pioneer Press

There is tension but not dysfunction according to Robert and Jonathan Kraft. Not playing Butler last night has made some players call out Belichick or even think they aren’t coming back. Rob Gronkowski said he was going to evaluate his season and doesn’t know if he’ll be back. Butler is gone which is obvious and Gilmore needs to have a better season next year.

Belichick doesn’t know if he’ll be back and Josh McDaniels could be staying. There are a lot of questions that will be answered except the Malcolm Butler situation. And if that does come out it won’t be from Belichick. It will be from a player.

Will Robert hand the team to Jonathan and let Belichick leave? That’s a question that will be answered in the coming weeks. The defense has so much work to do. Putting that much pressure on Brady to just win them the game is absurd. In the words of Gisele, he can’t play offense and defense. I took that from the 2011 Super Bowl when she said “Brady can’t throw the ball and catch it too.”

Is This the Beginning of the End?

Is this the beginning of an 18 year run? That remains to be seen but as the saying goes, all things must come to an end. This will be the most interesting offseason in Patriots recent history.

Can Tom Brady Pass Michael Jordan Sunday?

Tom Brady or Michael Jordan?

It’s no question Tom Brady is already the greatest quarterback of all time. Tom Brady is going for his sixth Super Bowl win on Sunday. With a sixth Super Bowl win he will have had as many championships as Michael Jordan. The Patriots’ 18 year dynasty is unheard of and will never happen again. Michael Jordan won all of his titles before the age of 40. Tom Brady is still playing at a high level at 40. With a win on Sunday Tom Brady will pass Michael Jordan as the greatest athlete of all time.

What is a Bigger Dynasty?

Tom Brady came into this league as an underdog in 2000. That first Super Bowl win against the Rams ended their dynasty and began one for New England. The AFC Championship wins against the Colts in the early 2000s marked the end of their regime. Jordan won all his championships from 1991 to 1998. Tom Brady has won three out of four championships from 2001-2004 and has a chance to do it again with 2014-2017. The 18 year run this team is on is way more impressive than the seven year run the Chicago Bulls were on.

Tom Brady Has a Chance to Add to His Legacy Sunday

Tom Brady has a chance to stamp his legacy Sunday as the greatest athlete of all time. This may be the worst Patriots team that has been in the Super Bowl. The defense has struggled and the offense is different without Julian Edelman. Michael Jordan was fourth in career points. Brady is tied for third in career passing touchdowns. Brady was the 199th pick in the NFL Draft while Michael Jordan was drafted third in the NBA Draft. Comparing different sports is hard, but right now Brady is in talks with Jordan as the greatest team athlete of all time. He really has the opportunity to seal that deal Sunday.

New England Patriots Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Preview

It’s that time of year again. Once again the New England Patriots are playing the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. The last time these two teams played in the Super Bowl was in 2004, when coincidentally the Patriots also lost both coordinators following a win. It was their third Super Bowl win in three seasons. The Patriots could be looking at their sixth Super Bowl title since 2001. Simply amazing!

Familiar Faces

The Patriots will see two familiar faces on the field next week. LeGarrette Blount and Chris Long are former Patriots who both signed with the Eagles in this past offseason. Belichick was asked about Long and Blount in press conference and replied,

“Yeah, they’ve done a good job for them. Both guys have been productive, having good years along with a lot of other guys on the team; solid”.

The James Harrison signing has been great addition for this team. Brings some pressure from the defense that the Patriots didn’t have before. Belichick praised Harrison Wednesday saying,

“James has been great, really professional, works hard. There are a lot of things that we do that are different from what he’s done in the past, but he’s adjusted very quickly. I give him a lot of credit for that and has tried to learn and do everything that we’ve asked him to do to the very best of his ability”.

Brady Is Strictly Focused on the Super Bowl

Tom Brady has not talked about his documentary that was released on Thursday. Instead he’s talking about football and sticking to the big game. He said during his press conference Saturday that having Gronk back out at the practice was great.

“It’s always great to have him out there. He’s a great person great teammate, and a big part of what we do so it obviously hurts when he’s not out there for a lot of reasons.”

Brady is also excited to play in the eighth Super Bowl of his career. The Patriots should fly the Eagles all the way back to Philadelphia this Sunday.

Relax, Tom Brady Will Be Fine

BRADY WILL BE READY TO GO SUNDAY

Tom Brady cut his hand from hitting the buckle on someone’s helmet. He has four stitches around the knuckle and should not affect him. That is according to Mike Felger, who had a source close to Brady’s injury. Brady also missed practice yesterday but was throwing the ball around today. Fans, even myself, thought the injury was fake, but the players wouldn’t put that much effort in making up a story. They are playing the Jaguars. Brady could play with one arm and still beat them.

THE PATRIOTS WILL BE FINE AND SO WILL BRADY

Let me show you how the Jaguars defense is a fraud. The Jaguars had ten-sack games against the Colts and the Texans. That’s twenty-eight sacks total in four games against those teams. That is half of the Jaguar’s season total according to Tony Massarotti. Tom Brady when asked if he was playing Sunday and with a smirk said “We’ll see” was the second most stupidest thing I heard all day.

He is obviously playing and wants people to think that he’s not. Now if Jimmy Garoppolo were here what would have his response been? He would’ve said that he was fine and that’s a fact and he’ll be ready to go Sunday. But because the backup is Hoyer he avoided the first response and said “we’ll see.” The first stupidest thing I heard all day was he is questionable to start Sunday. That is a clear note to the Jaguars that he’ll be off his game but really he won’t and will be fine on Sunday.

ROOT FOR THE PATRIOTS

If you’re a football fan you would want the Patriots to win on Sunday. Do you really want a Jaguars-Eagles or Vikings Super Bowl? It’s the biggest game of the year so be careful what you wish for. If the Patriots lose Sunday then it will be the lowest rated Super Bowl ever. Having said that the Patriots will beat the Jaguars and it really won’t be that close. Brady’s hurt yes, but he will be fine on Sunday afternoon.

AFC Championship Going Through Foxborough Again

Another Year Another Championship Game In Foxborough

The AFC Championship game will once again be held in Foxborough. This will be the seventh year in a row that the Patriots will play in the AFC title game. Unlike last year they will not be playing the Steelers. Instead they will be taking on Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars. I hate to say it, but the Patriots will crush the Jaguars. The same fate will be true for whoever they play in the Super Bowl. The four quarterbacks left in the playoffs are Tom Brady, Case Keenum, Blake Bortles, and Nick Foles. If that isn’t an easy road for the Patriots I don’t know what is.

Brady the Goat

Why would Brady even retire after this season? Though he’s forty  he is playing at a high level and can still compete in the sport he loves. The Steelers overlooked their game against the Jaguars and were only focused on the Patriots. It’s the Patriots versus everybody else. They never overlook anybody, no matter how bad the team may be. The Patriots are the best team in football for a reason. At the end of the day everything works out for them.

Patriots-Jaguars is Almost Laughable

This eighteen year playoff run is really remarkable. It’s something that will not happen again for a very long time. The last time the Patriots played the Jaguars in the postseason was ten years ago on January 12th, 2008 in the Divisional round. The Patriots won that game 31-20, and Brady passed for 262 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Ten years later the two teams meet again in the playoffs, and Brady is still the starting quarterback. Tom Brady spoke after the win against the Titans about the success they’ve had over the years:

“I mean, it’s pretty incredible to be a part of that. I think the thing is that we don’t really take it for granted around here I know how hard it is to get to this game. We’re very blessed to do it. It takes a lot of things, a lot of good fortune, a lot of hard work, but obviously a lot of great blessings.

“I think our team has proven over the course of the year we can win important games against good teams and we did that tonight and that’s why you keep moving on. The reality of the NFL is what we did this week will have nothing to do with what happens next week. We’re going to have to go repeat it, so you’ve got to get right back to work, right back to the process of trying to figure out how to breakdown our opponent. Everyone’s got to feel good physically and mentally and go out there and try to cut it loose one more time in a huge game.”

It’s now on to Jacksonville for a chance to play in another Super Bowl.

Tom Brady Plans Life After Football

Tom Terrific’s Documentary

Earlier this week Tom Brady released a trailer for a documentary series on Facebook Watch called “Tom vs. Time”. The trailer features Brady saying, “There’s a warrior spirit about me”, and there is speculation that the documentary will be all about the Patriots. Some who believe that Brady is only thinking about himself instead of his team. Is he preparing his life after football with his TB12 brand?

Selling the TB12 Method

Brady has released a book, a special meal plan, and workout plan. Forty is the new thirty with the TB12 method. Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time, and the reason why he’s still playing is because he wants to prove that even at forty he still can play football at a high level. So why stop now? Brady wouldn’t talk about his documentary during today’s press conference saying, “This is about Tennessee. We’re two days from the biggest game of the year”.

Brady Focused on the Playoffs

Tom Brady is locked in on the playoffs. It’s what is best for the team. His TB12 brand is important to him, and will probably develop into something more after he retires from football. Some people say that Brady is just doing the documentary so he can sell something.

Shannon Sharpe said on his show ‘Undisputed’,

“Now he wants to offer us a glimpse inside of Tom Brady? What’s he selling? People will always open up if they pitch him something. Got a book, got a movie, in this case got a documentary series. Really Tom Brady? You spent the better part of 18 years being private, it wasn’t until you started promoting these health and wellness centers, the TB12 method, now all of a sudden you want to open up. I want to show you what’s in my refrigerator. He wants to open up only after he started to pitch something. So what happened to Year 10, why didn’t he open up? What happened to Year 15, why didn’t he open up? Now as he starts to move past it, he’s not playing to 45, he wants to prop up this TB12.”

Ignoring the Noise

Sharpe and many others believe that Brady is more about selling his brand than being loyal to the Patriots this year. Patriots fans don’t think that’s true. He is focused on the playoffs. However he really has to start thinking about what he is doing after football. He will be forty-one in August and his TB12 method has worked for him, so why not sell the product? At least he has a plan for what might come next.

Patriots Have The Number-One Seed — Again

The Patriots Once Again Have The Number-One Seed

They did it again.  Number-one seed. Yes, they are a good team, but let’s face it, the rest of the AFC is terrible. The Patriots will host the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night, in the Divisional Playoff game. The last time the Titans came to Foxboro, was 2015. The Patriots won 33-16, and Brady threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns in the win. They have been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons recently, which is what makes them play their best. The Patriots love to ignore the noise, and do their talking on the field.

The Titans Are Terrible (Tomato Can)?

The Titans aren’t very good, and yes, the Patriots did earn the number-one seed. The Patriots should easily walk away with this game on Saturday. The reason no one is talking about the game is because the Titans are awful. Instead of talking about actual football, people want to talk about a rift the Patriots say isn’t there, and it’s false. Belichick was only taking Titans questions at the press conference Tuesday saying, “This is a team that’s been in a lot of close games. They’re tough, they’re resilient, won on the road, won tough games the last two weeks that they needed to win to be here. I have a lot of respect for their program, the way they play, the way they coach, the way they compete and [they’re] a tough, hard-nosed team. We’ve dealt with some non-Tennessee subjects here over the last few days. At this point I’m all in on Tennessee. I’ll answer any questions about the Titans but that’s it.”

Patriots Should Walk Away With The Win

If the Patriots lose this game, then something needs to change. There is no excuse for them to lose to the Titans. The last time the Titans were here, Marcus Mariota got hurt during the game, and didn’t finish it. The Patriots do their best when people write or say something bad about them. They prove them wrong by winning all the time. Which is why it’s the Patriots, and everybody else.

The ESPN Article Tells Us Nothing

The ESPN Article Tells Us Nothing

Via fox59.com

The ESPN article on the rift in New England is nothing new. The main Boston media and myself have been saying for weeks that there’s a rift. Belichick, Brady, and Kraft stand united because that’s what is best for the team. The only thing that matters right now is getting ready for the playoffs. Did Belichick want to keep Garoppolo? Yes. Did Kraft side with Brady? Yes. Brady is the franchise guy and the most important player in the sport. Robert Kraft spoke to Peter King and denied the ESPN report saying it was, “A total fabrication and fiction. I am telling you, it’s fiction”.

Jimmy Garoppolo Feels Betrayed by Patriots

Via FanastyPros

According to my source Jimmy Garoppolo feels betrayed by the Patriots, and also thinks Brady went to Kraft to have him traded. Kraft spoke about the trade to Peter King, saying,

“I assumed once the season started, we’d talk again at the end of the season about it. The next time I spoke with Bill about it was the Monday before the trade deadline. He called me on that Monday and said he got a deal with San Francisco for a second-round pick and quarterback Brian Hoyer. Turns out they had to cut Hoyer and then we got him. But really, this was basically a second-round pick and Brian Hoyer for Jimmy. Bill asked me if I was OK with this. I was really taken aback a little bit. I wanted to think about it I talked to Jonathan, who was okay with it, and I called Bill back and said, ‘OK’.”

Kraft would never admit Brady went to him to trade Jimmy.   We will never know if that happened. But if Jimmy thinks that, then something was going on behind the scenes. Also, Jimmy Garoppolo being denied access to the TB12 Center is a lie, according to team broadcaster Scott Zolak.

Belichick to the Giants? False (For Now)

Via NY Daily News

I also wrote that Belichick could coach the Giants. Not sure if he would next season but maybe in the near future. It wouldn’t surprise me. Kraft also denied the report telling Peter King he absolutely believes Belichick will be back in 2018. Adam Schefter also believes Belichick will be the coach in 2018. The main focus right now is getting ready for the playoffs.

Robert Kraft Only Thinking About the Present?

Robert Kraft Stepped In

Robert Kraft stepped in and traded Jimmy Garoppolo this season. Going into 2018 Garoppolo is now 7-0 as a starter in the NFL. In the five games with the 49ers Garoppolo passed for 1,560 yards with seven touchdowns. Garoppolo has proven that he is a legit NFL quarterback in the NFL. Meanwhile in New England the Patriots have 40-year-old Tom Brady, who really has not been playing well. He threw an interception against the Steelers for the first time since 2005. It’s clear Bob Kraft wanted to move on from Garoppolo and keep Brady who is bigger than the team. Brady is the franchise and so is Belichick, but did Kraft hurt the future of the franchise?

A Look into the Future

Patriots life

Let’s fast forward five years from now. Will Garoppolo be a Patriot again? Or will the 49ers still have a stud franchise quarterback? Will the Patriots be back at 6-10? Or will the Patriots draft a good quarterback and groom him to be the next guy? There are so many questions. Whether or not Belichick now has to draft a quarterback despite having a perfect heir in Garoppolo.

Garoppolo Is a Legit NFL Quarterback

The audio of Garoppolo calmly leading his team to a comeback win a few weeks ago was scary good. He sounded like Brady, as he took what he learned in Foxborough and took it with him to the 49ers. John Lynch wrote on the team’s website:

“We want Jimmy to be a Niner for a long time. That process is going to take place here. We’re eager to get that done, to have the opportunity. But, I think one thing that we really believe is that those things should take place between us and his representatives and not occur and transpire in the public. That’s the way we’re going to treat that. You have our assurances, and the fans do, that we’d like nothing more than to make him a Niner for a long, long time.”

We’ll see what happens, but it’s clear Belichick wanted to keep Garoppolo. However nobody was going to let him trade away the greatest quarterback of all time.
