The World Cup Football will return this November in Qatar. As we are only a few months away, Qatar is gearing up for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The 32 teams and 8 groups all set to begin the campaign on 21 November. The month-long carnival will wrap up with the final on 18 December.

The vibe of the biggest football tournament on the planet is all around us already. Hence, here we are with some fun facts you don’t know about the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Keep Your Horse Calm

If you are flying to Qatar for the World Cup 2022, you need to keep your horse calm. We mean to say extramarital sex affairs or one-night stand will be completely out of menu. It is completely prohibited in the Middle East and you must respect the law. Bring your spouse with you, or your horse can get you 7 years in prison.

According to Surprise Sports, quote from police source, “sex is very much off the menu, unless you are coming as a married couple. There definitely will be no one-night stands at this tournament.”

Your summer, Their Winter

FIFA World Cup 2022 will be the first winter event in the Northern Hemisphere. It is moved from its usual June-July slot to November-December because of the scorching summer-heat in Qatar. During summer, the temperature in the Middle East can rise up to 50 degrees celsius. So, it would be impossible to organize the event in that period. So, the tournament is moved to November-December for suitable temperature.

Do you know that Qatar’s November-December can be your Summer? In the Middle East, the winter temperature can rise around 30 degrees during day time. It will be a summer-like heat for someone who is somewhere from Canada or Northern states of America or Europe. During night time, the temperature can fall down to 10 degrees.

AC Everywhere

Again the scorching sun of Qatar comes into play. Qatar will host the matches in fully air-conditioned stadiums. All the 8 venues will be AC to keep the temperature comfortable. The temperature inside the stadiums will be around 25. It will give the spectators a comfortable cheering environment as well as the players to play.

Head-Cap, Tent, Boat Sails

FIFA World Cup host nations represent their culture and customs in front of the world throughout the tournament. There will be no exception to this tradition in Qatar.

Qatar will represent their culture and customs and the design of their stadiums will play a big part in it.

Al Thumama Stadium resembles the ‘gahfiya,’ the traditional head-cap worn by men and boys in the Arab world.

The structure of a huge tent of Al Bayt Stadium resembles “bayt al sha’ar,” the huge tent used by the nomadic peoples in Qatar.

This design of Al Janoub Stadium is inspired by sails of traditional Dhow boats. The boats were used by the pearl divers of Qatar.

Moreover, the Stadium 974 showcases a unique design as it is built with shipping containers. It is the first ever demountable stadium in the history of the World Cup.

One Day, Many Matches

Qatar is a small country. They are hosting the World Cup 2022 with only 8 venues, second fewest in history (Argentina did with 6 in 1978). Moreover, Al Thumama, Education City, and the Stadium 974 are in the same city in Doha. Khalifa International and Ahmad Bin Ali Stadiums are located in Al Rayyan City.

It means that you can watch several games from the stadiums in a single day as they are in close proximity. Don’t forget to buy the tickets of course.

Anyway, if you don’t have tickets, the World Cup Live Stream will be available on Fox Sports app in the United States. BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub will provide the live stream from the UK.
