Via CelticsBlog.com

Carsen Edwards: 19.4 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 45.6% 3PT shooting, 1.0 SPG

Carsen Edwards continues to show his ability to score and put up big numbers. He was the Celtic’s highest scorer, and showed it by averaging 19 points a game. Edwards also showed excellent accuracy from deep, with 47% shooting percentage overall, and 45% from deep. He averaged one steal a game, but his defensive hustle left more impact than the stats show

Grant Williams: 13.0 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 3.8 APG, 47% Shooting

Grant Williams was the epitome of a team player. His well-rounded stats show his willingness to score less in order to help out in other places. With 13 points and six rebounds per game, Williams flashed all his tools in Summer League, and his stats show a guy ready to contribute in any way at the next level.

Tremont Waters: 11.2 PPG, 4.8 APG, 38% Shooting, 2.0 SPG

Tremont Waters had low expectations coming in, so his stats were a little surprising. He did shoot under 40% from the field, but that’s something that can be fixed. His passing was excellent, as evidenced by his five assists per game. He also flashed great anticipation and defensive prowess with two steals per game. While he was one of the lowest scorers, he was their best defensive prospect.

Tacko Fall: 7.2 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 1.4 BPG, 77% Shooting

Tacko Fall, although not drafted, made enough of an impact to be mentioned here. He shot a ridiculous 77% from the field on his limited minutes, reflecting high efficiency. His 1.4 blocks per game highlight his ability to be an elite rim defender. At 7’6”, you’d like to see more point production. Overall, Fall was just one bright spot in a fun to watch group of Celtics rookies.

Trending PC Games 2019 a Gamer Should Play

You may be a gamer, but unless you are up to date with the latest games in the market, then you are not quite enjoying the very best. Once you have a quad-core CPU that can handle multi-threads, it is time to have a look at what is new in your favorite franchise. Developers keep launching new updates on their games as others release new ones, which is why every gamer must remain on their toes for the latest.

In 2019, there are a few mentionable games that are leaving a mark in the market, particularly for PC gaming. As a serious player, have a gaming schedule planned out with our list of trending PC games in 2019:

Doom Eternal

Doom is all about demon-slaughter action that is fast-paced and adrenaline-filled all the way. This new version of Doom is an upgrade from the version in 2016, where you have to use a brutal upgraded armory to fight twice as many demons with your favorite Doom enemies. Multiplayer and Snap maps are enjoyable little distractions and a great addition to the game.

Borderlands 3

Figure 1 Borderlands 3

Borderlands is back, and the Borderlands 3 is the best way to put your X rocker 51092 chair to good use. The new Borderlands game boasting of fast-paced battles and some outlandish-looking new environments has four new vault hunters, loads of returning characters from the previous version, and more than a billion guns to explore, including rocket launchers, revolvers, assault rifles, and laser weapons. The game comes with a whole lot of looting and shooting to keep you on toes with the villains more evil-looking than ever.

The Outer Worlds

The original Fallout designers are on-board with the Outer Worlds game, which means the game is a cross between Fallout and Firefly, which is such a thrilling sci-fi universe. The game is set several alien planets, wide a range of creative freedom for gamers, allowing them to create their own unique character, befriend different eccentric companions and play the game in versatile ways.

Total War: Three Kingdoms

Figure 2 Three Kingdoms

This game takes players to a whole unexpected world – ancient China during the Three Kingdoms era after the dissolution of the Han dynasty. The game promises a focus on the heroes of the age in a romanticized version of medieval China. As the gamer, you get the power to recruit and command massive armies, with a regular switch between overworld map city-building or diplomacy and intense strategic battles. Unlike what you would expect from such a game as this, it is different in the sense that the generals in Three Kingdoms will act as their own solo unit, instead of being flanked by large “bodyguard” units.

Dying Light 2

The new version of Day Light does not let the dream of zombie survival die off. It is based on its predecessors’ first-person action, RPG, exposing the users to ‘The City’, a bigger and more dangerous post-apocalyptic region. This city is skyscraper-filled and features violent faction conflicts terrifying new undead archetypes around every which way. There may not be a promise of a lot of updates on what the first edition of Dying Light was, but there is a focus on polishing up the gameplay experience in Dying Light 2 and expanding on existing systems.

Halo Master Chief Collection

Figure 3 Halo Master Chief Collection

The last in our list is the Halo Master Chief Collection, which slowly became a definitive gathering of Halo games and has found its way to PC. It is not exactly a new game, but given the fact that it is coming to Pc, instead of majoring on consoles only. The release of this game will be gradual in 2019, with Halo: Reach as the first. While the game will be a lot similar to what you may have known from childhood, there is a promise of bringing in several enhancements over their console counterparts.

Barkley has Unkind Words for Celtics Rivals Simmons and Embiid

TNT analyst Charles Barkley continued his war of words with a few of the Sixers’ stars this week, for some reason, seemingly out of nowhere. Perhaps he’s bitter over losing money on his former team when the Raptors beat the Sixers in Game 7 this year. However, if he were smart, he’d take advantage of some of the NJ sports betting offers and wager on Philadelphia who are currently the favorites to win the Eastern Conference.

Barkley and Embiid have traded barbs a few times over the years, and the former NBA paint presence recently took a shot at the Sixers big man — not mincing words one bit.

He appeared on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Wednesday, and that’s when he said Embiid needs to get his “fat butt” in shape.

“I wonder in Philadelphia who has the courage and the chutzpah to tell Joel Embiid, ‘Yo, man, you got to get in shape,’” Barkley said.

He continued:

“I think he’s got a great system down in New Orleans,” Barkley said. “I love David Griffin and Alvin Gentry, but they’re gonna have to come up with a comprehensive plan to see what the perfect playing weight (is). I hear he weighs 280. You can’t play at 280 in the NBA. You can’t play at that weight. It’s too much stress on his knees.”

Barkley does make a good point, as that much weight isn’t good for one’s joints, so the Sixers will benefit from Embiid shedding some weight — as will he, mentally and physically.

In other news, the Philadelphia 76ers could still be looking to add some veteran shooters off the bench.

It’s been quite the eventful offseason so far for the Philadelphia 76ers. First, they opened up the NBA Free Agency period by using one of their max slots on veteran forward, Tobias Harris. While many expected the Sixers to use their other max slot on Jimmy Butler, many were surprised to find out that Butler didn’t have a future planned in Philly.

Therefore, the Sixers signed and traded Butler away to the Miami Heat while landing guard, Josh Richardson. Other notable moves the Sixers made included adding Al Horford, Kyle O’Quinn, and Raul Neto while retaining some of their own free agents in Mike Scott, and James Ennis.

At this point, the Sixers are in great shape moving forward and could very well be close to the top of the Eastern Conference once again in 2019. However, they are not perfect. Losing Jimmy Butler was one thing — but losing JJ Redick hurts more than many think.

Philly still needs a reliable shooter — especially one coming off of the bench. And fortunately, there are a couple names on the market that the Sixers have been linked to as of late. The obvious prospect who the Sixers have been linked to for the past year now is none other than Kyle Korver.

Last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers made Korver available to any teams who might’ve had interest in trading for him. While the Sixers were in the conversation, the Utah Jazz made the best offer and received the veteran shooter. Now that the Jazz are done with Korver, he’s once again available for teams to sign and the Sixers seem to have an interest in a potential reunion.

Korver’s not the only veteran shooter to recently be linked to the Sixers. As of Monday, the Cavaliers have waived J.R. Smith, making him a free agent. Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey recently suggested five ideal landing spots for the veteran, with the Sixers being one of them. Similar to the same situation as Korver, Smith offers some veteran experience and is reliable with his shooting. Adding one of these two guys could surely benefit the Sixers.

Boston Celtics Sign First Round Draft Picks

First Round Picks Signed

The Boston Celtics signed their first-round draft picks from the 2019 NBA draft this week. Romeo Langford, the 14th pick, and Grant Williams, the 22nd pick, are now officially Celtics. Langford, a shooting guard/small forward from Indiana University, will make nearly $7.1 Million (M) guaranteed over his first two years. The Celtics have a player option for 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 worth $3.8M and $5.6M, respectively. Langford’s $3.5M salary in 2019-2020 will be approximately 120% of the rookie wage scale. The Celtics have a qualifying offer of $7.8M in 2023-2024 when Langford becomes a restricted free agent. That qualifying offer would constitute a $16.9M cap hit.

Williams, a power forward from the University of Tennessee, listed as a small forward on the Celtics roster, will make nearly $5M guaranteed over his first two years. The Celtics have a player option for 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 worth $2.6M and $4.3M, respectively. Just like Langford, Williams’ $2.4M salary in 2019-2020 will be approximately 120% of the rookie wage scale. The Celtics have a qualifying offer of $6.2M in 2023-2024 when Williams becomes a restricted free agent. That qualifying offer would constitute a $12.9M cap hit.

Other Notable Transactions

The Boston Celtics waived Guerschon Yabusele this week after picking up his $3.1M option last season. The word on the court was Yabusele’s development was not up to pace with the team’s desires. Boston signed Enes Kanter, Daniel Theis, Tacko Fall, and Vincent Poirier in addition to guaranteeing Semi Ojeyele’s contract this month, making Yabusele obsolete. Unfortunately, Yabusele’s $3.1M is dead money and counts against the Celtics 2019-2020 salary cap.

The Boston Celtics also signed rookie point guard Carsen Edwards to a three-year $4.5M contract. Edwards was the 33rd pick in the 2019 NBA draft. Practically a first-round pick himself, Edwards shined in the NBA Summer League, becoming a fan favorite. The point guard position was once a source of panic for Celtics fans. Edwards becomes the Celtics fourth point guard and the third point guard signed this month (Brad Wannamaker ; Kemba Walker).

Kemba Walker brings more star power and a veteran point guard presence to the young core of Boston Celtics scorers.

Putting the Pieces Together

Not more than a month ago Celtics fans wondered about the direction of the team. After Kyrie Irving and Al Horford declined their lucrative player options things looked grim. The Celtics then landed another max contract player in Walker, for whatever that’s worth considering Hayward’s status, and things began to look up. The signing of Kanter provided a much-needed veteran inside presence after the departure of Horford. The signing of Tacko Fall provides the giant splash of potential we missed out on in the draft. The 7’7” center being on an Exhibit-10 contract seems apropos if not ironically insensitive.

The Boston Celtics went from a possible dynasty to a rebuilding project in a matter of months. Dreams of Kyrie Irving throwing it up to Anthony Davis turned to valid questions. Would the Celtics even be able to convince Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to stay? Now Boston trots out a likely lineup of Walker, Hayward, Tatum, Theis and Kanter, with Marcus Smart and Brown coming off the bench. The Celtics now have depth at every position, albeit young depth. Who’s better equipped to deal with young players – these Celtics average 24.2 years old – than Brad Stevens and this revamped Celtics coaching staff? The last time Stevens had to make the best of a young team the Celtics were seven minutes from making the NBA Finals. The way things are lining up, Boston could be back there this coming season.

Golfer’s Guide: A Complete Review Of Adams XTD Irons

Whether you are a beginner, amateur or true golf enthusiast, the clubs you are playing with are your most powerful tools on the field. Although many novice players overlook the importance of picking the right golf equipment, it is a fact that the quality of clubs and other gear you use has a direct impact on your score and overall success!

How to pick the best club to satisfy your needs? This article aims to give you a kick-start by providing an honest Adams XTD forged irons review!

Main Pros

What makes Adam’s XTD line good? Below we have gathered some of the most significant pros:

  • Look – these clubs come in a very eye-catching design, are quite small, and mask technology at the address.
  • Feel – these clubs provide quite a punchy sensation at impact and deliver focused feedback to the player’s hands.
  • Playability – thanks to the weighty sole, these clubs show decent performance across all types of lies. In addition, we can call Adam’s XTD quite versatile. These clubs show decent game-improvement results and produce a spot-on, medium ball flight.
  • Distance – as was already mentioned, these clubs don’t seem to be giving up on the distance like many other forged irons tend to do. Instead, these clubs offer decent control and consistent distance.
  • Forgiveness – Adam’s forged irons show impressive forgiveness, control, and accuracy.

Main Cons

Although Adam’s XTD Forged Irons have plenty of benefits, they also hold a few drawbacks that are important to keep in mind. First of all, due to their low spin and low launch characteristics, such clubs are extremely demanding. This means that they won’t suit every player’s needs. Some golfers may find them too difficult to play with just like in the case with long irons. At the same time, others may say that in terms of feel, control, performance, and look, these irons also don’t fit into the definition of short irons. Therefore, the main con of these clubs is that they don’t fit everyone.

General Overview

Now, let’s move on to a quick overview of the company-manufacturer of these clubs. Adams Golf was founded in 1991 and became extremely popular thanks to its high-quality golf clubs. The company has been among industry leaders for many years until 2012 when the company was acquired by another famous worldwide manufacturer of golf supplies Taylor Made.

Now let’s move on to the clubs we are going to review in this article. Adams XTD is probably the best forged irons out there because they don’t sacrifice distance. Introduced to the public in 2014, these clubs were created by the company in order to see what Adams Golf could produce if they weren’t limited in budget. These clubs are made of the high-quality materials and, unlike traditional forged irons, they feature a unique Cut-Thru Slot Technology invented by Adams Golf. The same technology is used in the company’s hybrids, and its idea is to make the club face faster, at the same time, enhancing the club’s forgiveness. Forged, hollow blades of Adam’s XTD consist of a carbon steel body, a maraging steel face, and tungsten weights to optimize CG.

In general, these clubs are created to improve the way you play golf. Thus, these clubs will be a perfect choice for a beginner thanks to their decent distance, forgiveness, and game-improvement features. However, the price of these irons is far beyond most beginners’ budgets. Depending on the type of club you choose (graphite or steel), the price tag will vary from $1,000 to $1,200, which makes it hardly affordable for most players.

Eduardo Nunez World Series Memories

A celebration of some of Eduardo Nunez‘s greatest hits from the 2018 World Series Championship, in light of him being DFA’d by the Red Sox.

Game One, bottom of the 7th

With the Red Sox clinging to a 5-4 lead, Andrew Benintedi doubled, and J.D Martinez was intentially walked. Mitch Moreland and Xander Bogaerts struck out with Rafael Devers due up. Dave Roberts went to the bullpen for Alex Wood. Despite the fact that Devers had gone 1-2 against Clayton Kershaw, Alex Cora pinch hit with Eduardo Nunez. He promptly hit a three run bomb, providing the final scoring in a 8-4 Red Sox win. Here is Nunez telling Big Papi himself, David Ortiz, all about it:

Game Three, top of the 13th inning

In the top of the thirteenth inning he came up with Brock Holt standing on first. He was facing Dodger lefthander Scott Alexander, who promptly set the gimpy Nunez on his butt not once but twice. The second time was a wild pitch, and Holt ended up on second base. Meanwhile Nunez had the look of someone who was going out on a stretcher. After a visit from Cora and the trainer, Nunez hit the next pitch into no man’s land in front of the mound. Max Muncy, playing first base, broke for the ball, but the pitcher got there first. Enrique Hernandez, who was playing second, went to cover first, but gimpy Nunez busted it down the line doing what makes fans and commentators cringe, sliding into the bag headfirst. Alexander threw the ball beyond Kiki Hernandez’s grasp, Nunez was safe, and Holt scored.

Fox TV Screen Grab – Nunez celebrating after his headfirst slide.

Game Three, bottom of the 13th inning

With Muncy at first having walked, and Nathan Eovaldi pitching, Nunez was at third base. Cody Bellinger skied a ball near the stands by third. Nunez limp-sprinted over and made a catch going into the stands. An Ian Kinsler bad play allowed Muncy to score on the very next batter. But at the time it was it was a crucial out.

Fox TV Screen Grab – Nunez goes into the stands

Eduardo Nunez not only has one of the best smiles and laughs in the Major Leagues, but was a big part of the 2017 and 2018 Red Sox teams. He fell short this year, but his part on the 2018 World Series Championship will live on forever.

What You Need To Know About Andrew Cashner

The Red Sox are sending out newly acquired right-handed pitcher Andrew Cashner to the mound tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays. The deal came at a time where the Red Sox were in need of a change in their pitching staff. He is 32 years old and comes with a wealth of experience. But, what else should you know about the new Red Sox right-handed pitcher? Let’s take a look at a few key factors that you should consider when you think about Andrew Cashner.

He’s Never Been On A Winning Team

Andrew Cashner has spent his entire MLB career without being on a winning team. He spent the first two seasons of his career with the Chicago Cubs in 2010 and 2011. The Cubs in those seasons had 75 and 71 wins, respectively. He then went to the San Diego Padres for the next four and half seasons before being traded to the Miami Marlins. He spent 2017 with the Rangers, and then his last season and a half was spent with the Baltimore Orioles. Whether it was just bad luck or a bad organization, Cashner has never found himself in a position where he was contending for a playoff spot. Is that his fault? Not at all!

He’s Having A Good Season So Far In 2019

It is hard to come by wins if you are a Baltimore Orioles’ pitcher. So for Andrew Cashner to have a 9-3 record so far this season is really huge for the Red Sox. Sure, the 3.83 ERA isn’t exactly CY Young award material. But the thing is, Cashner is winning baseball games. Now, imagine what his numbers can really look like if he has a legitimate offense backing him up every start. The Red Sox should be thanking their lucky stars that they found a guy that has found his way to the win column a good amount so far this season. In 96 innings, he has 29 walks given up. So the good thing is that Cashner has good control on the mound in 2019.

He Has A Good Changeup

A lot of pitchers have success in the Major Leagues because of the command of their changeup. Guess what? Andrew Cashner has a good changeup. The changeup is a pitch that can be a pitcher’s best friend when the breaking ball isn’t working that day. So when I first saw that Cashner’s big pitch is his changeup, that gave me a huge sigh of relief. Plus, he’s confident in the pitch which will make a huge difference in August and September when the Red Sox will need wins the most.

In Conclusion

The Red Sox traded for a guy that can help them right now. He has been around the Major Leagues for about 10 seasons now, so that will serve well for the Red Sox from a veteran aspect. He loves the changeup and is having success this season so far. What more can you want from a new acquisition? We’ll see how he throws tonight in his first Red Sox start. But, from what I’ve heard, seen, and read about him; I’m excited to see what he can bring to the table.

What would a Tom Brady Podcast be like?

Imagine a Tom Brady Podcast

FEBRUARY 5, 2019 – BOSTON, MA: New England PAtriots Tom Brady waves the Super Bowl trophy and salutes the fans on Boylston St during the rolling rally. (Staff photo by Nicolaus Czarnecki/DigitalFirst Media/ Boston Herald)

Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time, there’s no question about that. But imagine if he had a podcast, what would it be like? What kind of guests would he have on besides the obvious people like Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and Bill Belichick. Even the Krafts are an obvious guest on his podcast. It would be the most downloaded podcast in the U.S., beating all the rest. What would they talk about? Football, the TB12 Method, being 41 and feeling like 25? All those and more topics would be interesting.

A Tom Brady Podcast full of Guests

Brady would, of course, keep the podcast classy but also hopefully give an inside scoop of the Patriots locker room and balancing family with football. We saw that during his Tom Vs. Time documentary on Facebook Watch how he did that, but that was only a snippet. The guests he would have on from former players and coaches to current players and coaches would be really cool. Even some Hall Of Fame players too. What would really be cool is if he had Joe Montana on it since that was who Brady looked up too.

Brady has done so much in his career that if he ever did his podcast at a charity event to raise money, tickets would be sold out in a matter of minutes. He could also have different athletes from this city on his podcast like Red Sox legend David Ortiz. Now that would be epic and Boston Sports porn! Brady would not only win on the football field, he would win on the airwaves too.

Finally, the fans could call in maybe and submit questions to the show. He could answer as many as he could. Overall a Tom Brady podcast would be out this world, and a great post-career move decision on his part.

How to be good at football – 2019 Guide For Kids

If you love to play football, but you’re not very good at it, probably all you need are a few tips to improve. Practicing the right way will make you a better player in just a few weeks, as long as you’re consistent and disciplined. Learn to be good at football.

How good can you become? Well, it’s true that if you don’t have a natural talent you may not become the best of your friends, but you will have a level of play good enough for everyone to consider you a reliable player on the pitch, and want to have you on their team. So don’t wait any longer; start training today with these special recommendations Sports Domain Lab prepared for you.

Steps to be good in football

1. Run three or four days a week. A key factor to being good at football is having a physical condition that allows you to run all over the field for the entire game. If your body is not prepared for this, no matter how much you practice the techniques of hitting and ball control: your performance on the field will not be good.

  • Complement cardiovascular exercise with a little muscular exercise. While running increases the capacity of your lungs, doing additional exercises such as squats, irons and chest push-ups will help strengthen the muscles in your legs and back, which are very important for hitting the ball. In addition, you will be exercising your arms a little, which are useful for throw-ins.
  • If you’re not used to running, start for just 20 minutes, and don’t overdo the muscle exercises either. Getting in shape is important, but it’s something you get little by little, and you shouldn’t get obsessed with the idea. Remember to take one day off for each day of exercise.

2. Spend some time each day jogging with the ball as close to your feet as possible.  If you need to start at a really slow speed, do it. The goal here is not really to exercise while jogging, but to concentrate on watching the ball roll in front of you by pushing it with your feet, and to learn to push it always with just enough force so that it doesn’t go far and you can keep it in your power as you move around the court.

3. Also on a daily basis, you should practice throwing passes against the wall, always responding with a single touch. Stand in front of any wall, kick the ball with medium force and react quickly to kick it again when it returns to your feet.

  • Count the passes you can make between the wall and yourself without losing control of the ball. The goal is that after a few weeks of practice you can safely complete 50 successful passes, responding in one touch to the rebound coming from the wall.
  • Pay special attention to the direction you give the ball by hitting it with different parts of your foot. With time you’ll begin to notice why it’s important to hit the inside of the ball to give it the exact direction you want: so your passes will always go to the center of the wall in front of the wall you’re practicing, and when they bounce they’ll come right back to you so you can kick a good pass again in one move.
  • When you have practiced enough with your most skillful leg, start to slightly tilt the direction of some passes, so that they bounce diagonally from the wall and you must answer them with your other leg. Be patient and remember that it can take many weeks or even months before you know how to kick the ball well with your less skilful leg. But the time will come when you will be able to complete 100 uninterrupted passes by kicking one-touch to the wall, interspersing both legs as part of the exercise.

4. The next thing you need to practice is shooting at goal. If you don’t have a real court where you can practice, a stretch of wall can work for this as well. Just make sure you somehow mark the posts so you can train your aim in a well-marked frame.

  • Remember again that hitting the inside of the foot is essential to give a good direction to your shot. What exactly is the part of the shoe with which you want to kick the ball? If it’s your right foot, imagine that the ideal point of contact for hitting the ball is the left row of holes for laces or shoelaces. If it is your left foot, imagine that the ideal point is the right line of holes for the shoelaces.
  • You must bend the foot slightly outwards and downwards to get the ball kicked with the ideal point of contact on the inside of your sports shoe. The movement of your leg from the back to the front can also have different angles, so be sure to bend it back so that the line that forms between your foot and the ball you are about to hit points to the exact point where you expect to send the ball after hitting it.
  • Just as the angle you bend your leg back to gain momentum will affect the direction of your shot, the tilt of your hip can cause you to kick at mid-height, ground level, or quite high. If you want to send a shot flush with the ground, your hip should be tilted slightly forward so that your leg does not lift when the ball hits. If you want to send a high shot, you should tilt your hip slightly back so that your leg lifts a little more when you hit the ball. Be sure to use a very slight tilt, as it is very easy to exaggerate and send the ball too high.

5. Now that you have the basic skills to have a good game on the court, the next thing you need to develop is your sense of direction on the field and confront your opponents.

  • A good player is characterized by having a vision of the entire field of play. You must know exactly where your team-mates will be next to receive a pass, and be able to anticipate a long drive from the other side if you are a defender, or embark on a race with ball control to penetrate the opponent’s lines and leave a team-mate unmarked if you are an attacker.
  • The best way to begin to have a good view of the field is to observe many professional football matches and analyse them. Take advantage of the fact that today on the internet or on television you can watch matches from the best leagues in the world. Watch how the players are distributed all over the pitch, how they solve complicated situations, how they cheat to outwit the rival brand, without losing control of the ball while they are moving forward.
  • Another important option to familiarise yourself with the movement and planning of the game during a football match is to play a video game like EA Sports’ FIFA. By becoming familiar with the game plan of different teams, each with its own way of defending and attacking, you will begin to reason in your head what are the best ways to move the ball around the field to overcome the obstacles that the opposing team places in front of it.

6. Play with other friends whenever you can. To deepen your technique with more moves than we describe here as a summary, you only need to study the variations made with them by the most skillful players.

7. As you practice, watch, and learn football, make sure you’re having fun. You’ll never be completely good if you don’t enjoy every second you spend on the field, even if you’re not very good yet. Keep in mind that if you are interested in this sport for many years, you need to learn little by little so that you are always passionate about the game and do not get tired of enjoying it. If you only think about goals instead of enjoying while you practice, you won’t get to the end of the process. Be patient with yourself, though, while still making demands on your training.

Reading the Tea Leaves in Boston’s Newest Player – Stellar

After the Stage 3 playoffs, Overwatch League was set for a slow news week. Monday seemed to be the day to reflect on Shanghai’s unexpected upset of San Francisco to win the Stage 3 title. Instead, Boston takes the headlines away from the Dragons to announce the signing of DPS player Stellar. That name sound familiar? Yes, that’s the same Stellar who played for the Toronto Defiant. Same player who as recently as April retired from professional Overwatch. Wait, what?

Let’s try to break this down. Stellar, a Tracer specialist in Korean Contenders for O2 Blast, started the season for Toronto. He was there back on March 3rd when the Defiant trumped the Uprising 3-1. In the GOATs meta, much like Blase, the DPS specialist has been stuck in the Brig. Stellar played a bit of Sombra, he never stuck around long enough this season to see the DPS resurgence that has been prominent this past stage. That, along with unspecified personal reasons, was enough to make him to decide to step away from the game.

Staring at a wall

Now he’s back and we’re left wondering what Huk’s long game is here. A few hot takes for you:

  • First, with 2-2-2 lock coming down the pike, Boston strikes first in signing DPS talent. Makes alot of sense and glad Huk is out in front of everyone.
  • Second, If you’re Blase or Colourhex and you wake up to this news, what’re you thinking? These two DPS stars have had too few moments to shine and show what they can do. Now there’s another DPS player to soak up playing time? They can’t be happy.
  • Next, it’s strange that just two weeks after former Boston DPS player Mistakes unretires to join the Montreal Rebellion (Toronto’s Academy Team) Stellar unretires too. Conspiracy theorists will have a field day connecting the hidden dots between these players/organizations.
  • Boston is now up to four Korean players on the roster. That ties the most they’ve ever had with last year’s squad. After seeing Shanghai dump their original roster for an all Korean players to transform from an 0-40 team to Stage 3 champions, teams have to be tempted with this approach. Florida has done the same. Hopefully Boston will stay steadfast in their approach.
  • If you’re going to sign a DPS, what better can you do than another team’s former starter? That’s the definition of buying low and moneyballing the hell out of the competition. This has Huk’s hands all over it and I love it.
  • Lastly, anyone thinking this roster will be the same a few months from now is nuts. Huk may already be hawking some of the shiny looking toys in the box he’s shown off to the rest of the league. Maybe Colourhex’s Widow skills have earned him a spot on the trading block. Perhaps Aimgod is next out the door. Former obscure players like Striker and Neko found themselves in similar positions last year, after coming from obscurity to strutting themselves on the OWL stage. Either way, Boston wins and the machine keeps rolling.
  • Worse case – we never see Stellar on stage. Like Persia and Axxiom, he may be another Korean stuck riding the pine until Huk finds trading partners for everyone else. Hard to say what type of long game the President of Gaming has in mind.

Final Thought

Well, all these takes aside, what’s a Boston fan to think? For me, I think we have to trust the process. This is the same management team that plucked players like Gamsu and Note out of obscurity. We’ve seen this team go undefeated one stage and miss stage playoffs another. Boston dished out reverse sweeps four times this season, but also were reverse swept by the Washington Justice. It’s part of the fun of being an Uprising fan. Strap in. Drink the Kool-Aid. Enjoy the ride. Let’s go.

Look into those eyes. Does that look like the gaze of a man that doesn’t have a plan. #ThatsMyGM
